Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team on a locum basis. This is a great opportunity to work with children and families where safeguarding concerns have been identified, ensuring safety, stability and better outcomes through direct intervention and multi-agency partnership.

What You Can Expect:

• Competitive pay rate of £38 per hour

• Manageable caseloads of around 20–24 cases

• Minimum 6-month assignment with potential for extension

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children and families with safeguarding and child protection concerns

• Undertake assessments, care planning and interventions to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing

• Work directly with children and families to build strong relationships and effect positive change

• Lead safeguarding interventions in partnership with health, education, police and voluntary services

• Prepare reports and contribute to child protection conferences, reviews and, where necessary, court proceedings

• Provide professional expertise and support to less experienced colleagues

Requirements:

• SWE Registration

• Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)

• Significant post-qualified experience in child protection, safeguarding or family support

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds and risk management

• Proven ability to manage complex caseloads effectively

• Excellent partnership working and communication skills
