Sheldon Phillips are working with Herefordshire Council to recruit a Locum Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Team. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989

• Carry out Section 47 enquiries and manage safeguarding cases

• Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences and court proceedings

• Develop, implement, and review child protection and care plans

• Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies

• Maintain accurate and timely case notes on the council’s recording systems

Requirements:

• SWE Registration

• Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons, MA Social Work)

• Experience in safeguarding/child protection

• Strong assessment and analytical skills

• Court and multi-agency working experience

• Ability to work flexibly and effectively under pressure
