Social Worker – FAST Team | North Yorkshire Council | £37.79 per hour

Sheldon Phillips are currently working with North Yorkshire Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker into their FAST Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a frontline service working directly with children and families to reduce risk and achieve positive long-term outcomes through timely intervention and relationship-based practice.

Role Overview

The FAST Team works with children and families requiring support through Child in Need, Child Protection and court processes. The team focuses on building relationships with families while managing safeguarding concerns and ensuring children remain safe within their networks wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing Child in Need, Child Protection and court cases

• Completing S17 and S47 investigations and assessments

• Undertaking direct work with children and families

• Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children

• Completing court reports, PLO work and care proceedings

• Developing outcome-focused care and support plans

• Attending multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions

• Maintaining accurate case recording and assessments

Requirements

• SWE Registration

• Social Work qualification

• Frontline safeguarding experience

• Court work and PLO experience

• Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
