Social Worker

Social Worker – Safeguarding Team | Rochdale Council | £39 per hour

Sheldon Phillips are currently working with Rochdale Borough Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker into their Safeguarding Team. This is a great opportunity to join a busy frontline service supporting children and families through safeguarding intervention, child protection planning and court proceedings.

Role Overview

The Safeguarding Team works with children and families subject to Child in Need, Child Protection and pre-proceedings plans. The successful candidate will manage complex safeguarding cases while working closely with partner agencies to ensure children are protected and supported effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing safeguarding and child protection cases

• Completing S17 and S47 enquiries

• Undertaking Child and Family Assessments

• Managing Child in Need and Child Protection plans

• Completing court work, PLO and pre-proceedings work

• Working in partnership with multi-agency professionals

• Undertaking direct work with children and families

• Maintaining accurate and timely case recording

Requirements

• SWE Registration

• Social Work qualification

• Strong safeguarding and assessment experience

• Court work and PLO knowledge

• Ability to manage complex frontline caseloads

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
