Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Team

Pay Rate: £39 per hour
Hours: 37 per week

About the Role

Halton Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team.
You will be responsible for undertaking timely assessments, responding to safeguarding concerns, and ensuring children and families receive the appropriate level of intervention and support.

This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
  • Undertake duty responsibilities and respond to new referrals.
  • Assess risk and develop effective safety plans.
  • Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases where required.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and other partner agencies.
  • Undertake direct work with children and families.
  • Maintain accurate case records and prepare high-quality reports.
