Position: Qualified Social Worker
Team: Assessment Team
Contract: Locum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to £37.50 per hour
Location: Nottingham City Council
Working Pattern: Hybrid – office and home-based working with duty week every 1 in 4
Sheldon Phillips are working with Nottingham City Council to recruit an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, well-structured service that focuses on ensuring children and families receive the right help at the right time.
What You Can Expect:
Hybrid working pattern with flexibility between home and office-based working
Supportive management structure with regular reflective supervision
Duty week every 1 in 4, ensuring a balanced and manageable workload
A strong focus on early intervention, relationship-based practice, and positive outcomes for families
Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertake assessments of children and families referred to the service
Complete Section 47 enquiries and Child & Family Assessments
Develop, implement, and review Child in Need and Child Protection Plans
Work in partnership with families and multi-agency partners to reduce risk and promote wellbeing
Prepare and present reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings where required
Manage caseload effectively, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all work
Requirements:
SWE Registration
Recognised Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW)
Post-qualified experience in Assessment or Safeguarding Teams
Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and partnership working abilities
Ability to manage a duty rota and work effectively under pressure
