Position: Social Worker
Team: Safeguarding
Contract: Locum – 3 Months +
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £39 per hour + mileage
Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2/3 days in the office, remainder remote

Introduction

Sheldon Phillips are working with Rochdale Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker for their Safeguarding Team. This service is responsible for managing complex child protection cases, undertaking risk assessments, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. You will be joining a highly supportive team with excellent supervision and flexible working arrangements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children subject to child protection plans and proceedings

• Undertake thorough risk assessments and develop effective safety plans

• Prepare and present reports for court proceedings

• Work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to safeguard children

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records in line with statutory requirements

Requirements:

• SWE Registration

• Recognised Social Work qualification

• Significant post-qualified experience within Safeguarding/Child Protection

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation

• Ability to work under pressure and meet statutory deadlines

• Flexible and proactive approach
