Position: Senior Practitioner
Team: Children in Care
Contract: Locum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour
Location: Birmingham (2 days in the office, hybrid working)
Start Date: ASAP

Birmingham Children’s Trust are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Children in Care service. This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of the largest trusts in the country, supporting children and young people who are looked after, ensuring they have the best possible opportunities and stability in their lives.
What You Can Expect:
Hybrid working with only 2 days per week required in the office
Supportive management and regular supervision

Diverse caseload offering variety and challenge
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hold a caseload of children in care, ensuring effective care planning and permanence outcomes
Support foster carers and residential providers in meeting the needs of children and young people
Undertake statutory visits, assessments and reviews in line with legislation
Prepare and present high-quality reports for court, reviews and multi-agency meetings
Mentor and support less experienced colleagues, offering guidance and professional expertise
Work closely with multi-agency partners to deliver the best outcomes for children
Requirements:
SWE Registration
Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
Significant post-qualified experience within Children in Care or Looked After Children services
Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of care planning regulations
Court and multi-agency working experience
Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team culture
