Social Worker – Fostering Team

Pay Rate: £37.50 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Locum
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years’ statutory Children’s Social Work experience


About the Role

Bradford Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Fostering Team on a locum basis. This role focuses on supporting foster carers and ensuring children placed in foster care receive safe, stable, and nurturing placements that promote positive outcomes.

You will work closely with foster carers, children, and partner agencies, completing assessments, reviews, and support plans while contributing to high-quality fostering practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise foster carers, ensuring placements meet children’s needs.
  • Complete fostering assessments, reviews, and support plans.
  • Undertake direct work with children in foster care where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with children’s social workers, IROs, and partner agencies.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and professional support to foster carers.
  • Prepare clear, analytical reports for panels, reviews, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements.
