Location: Lewisham
Team: Looked After Children (LAC)
Pay: £39.04 per hour
Contract: Full Time Locum (35 hours per week)
In the office: Hybrid – 2 days a week from home

Lewisham Council are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their supportive Looked After Children team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young people while working within a forward-thinking Local Authority that values its staff and invests in its services.

They’re seeking an experienced Social Worker who can step in with confidence and bring strong practice knowledge to the team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring children in care are safeguarded, supported, and given the best chance to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hold a caseload of Looked After Children and manage care plans effectively.
• Undertake statutory visits and assessments in line with legislation and guidance.
• Work closely with foster carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
• Prepare and present reports for court proceedings and review meetings.
• Contribute to care planning and permanency planning to achieve the best outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

What you’ll need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Recognised Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience within Children’s Services (ideally LAC)
• Right to Work in the UK
