Sheldon Phillips are working with Birmingham Children’s Trust to recruit an experienced Social Worker for their Safeguarding and Court Team. This service manages complex child protection and court proceedings work, supporting children and families through statutory intervention. The team offers stability, flexible working arrangements, and free parking at Lifford House, making it an attractive base for practitioners seeking balance and structure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage safeguarding cases under Section 17 and Section 47
Prepare high-quality court reports and statements for care proceedings
Attend and contribute to legal planning meetings, conferences, and hearings
Chair and participate in core groups, CIN meetings, and multi-agency discussions
Complete direct work with children, ensuring their voice is central to planning
Develop outcome-focused plans and manage risk confidently
Maintain accurate and timely case recordings within statutory timescales
Requirements:
SWE Registration
Social Work qualification
Previous experience in Safeguarding, Court, or Child Protection teams
Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills
Confident in multi-agency working and managing complex risk
Flexible, organised, and proactive approach
