Are you an experienced Supervising Social Worker looking for your next challenge within a well-established Fostering Service? Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, support, and guidance to a caseload of foster carers.
- Undertake regular foster carer visits in line with statutory requirements.
- Complete annual foster carer reviews and present reports to fostering panels where required.
- Support the recruitment, assessment, and retention of foster carers.
- Work collaboratively with children's social workers to ensure placement stability and positive outcomes.
- Participate in placement matching and support planning processes.
- Ensure carers comply with fostering regulations, standards, and safeguarding procedures.
- Respond to placement issues and provide advice during challenging situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings, assessments, and reports.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the fostering service.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Previous experience working as a Supervising Social Worker within a Fostering Service.
- Strong understanding of fostering legislation, regulations, and national minimum standards.
- Experience supporting, assessing, and supervising foster carers.
- Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with carers, children, and partner agencies.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
