Key Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, support, and guidance to a caseload of foster carers.
• Undertake regular foster carer visits in line with statutory requirements.
• Complete annual foster carer reviews and present reports to fostering panels where required.
• Support the recruitment, assessment, and retention of foster carers.
• Work collaboratively with children's social workers to ensure placement stability and positive outcomes.
• Participate in placement matching and support planning processes.
• Ensure carers comply with fostering regulations, standards, and safeguarding procedures.
• Respond to placement issues and provide advice during challenging situations.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings, assessments, and reports.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the fostering service.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Previous experience working as a Supervising Social Worker within a Fostering Service.
• Strong understanding of fostering legislation, regulations, and national minimum standards.
• Experience supporting, assessing, and supervising foster carers.
• Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with carers, children, and partner agencies.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
