Are you an experienced and passionate Team Manager with a strong background in adolescent safeguarding? Lewisham’s Adolescent Family Help Team is looking for a skilled leader to join us on a locum basis to help shape and support effective outcomes for young people and their families.

About the Role:
We are seeking a confident and knowledgeable Team Manager to provide direct line management to a dynamic team of Social Workers and Lead Family Help Practitioners. The team supports families where the primary concerns relate to adolescent vulnerability and risk, with a strong focus on:

• Extra-familial harm
• Edge-of-care cases
• Social and emotional wellbeing needs

You will be responsible for the operational oversight of the team, ensuring high-quality assessments and interventions across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team working with vulnerable adolescents and their families
• Provide robust Quality Assurance (QA) and reflective supervision
• Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities
• Champion contextual safeguarding approaches at a Tier 1 level

About You:

• Proven experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner in children’s services
• Strong understanding of contextual safeguarding and adolescent risk
• Skilled in QA, supervision, and supporting practitioners through complex casework
• Confident managing CIN, CP, and court-related processes

 

Contract Details:

• £44.50 per hour (umbrella)
• Full-time locum position
• Hybrid working available
