Role: Children’s Services Team Manager
Location: Lambeth
Team: FSCP / Court / CWD
Pay: Up to £38.50 per hour
Contract: Locum

Are you a driven leader passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives? Lambeth Council is looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead and support a team of social workers within the FSCP / Court / CWD services.

You’ll be managing the day-to-day operational business of the team, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children in line with statutory frameworks. This includes taking the lead on performance targets, supporting frontline staff through changes in policy and practice, and contributing to strategic development across the service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing a team of social workers across FSCP (Family Support and Child Protection), Court, and Children with Disabilities

• Leading on safeguarding practices and ensuring services align with government legislation and council policy

• Providing operational leadership, advising on service strategy and future development

• Maintaining budget responsibility and ensuring value for money across service delivery

• Reporting on performance targets and supporting continuous improvement

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration

• Social Work Qualification

• At least 3 years’ experience in a management or senior social work role

• Proven leadership skills in Children’s Services

• Strong communication and team management abilities

• A passion for delivering child-focused, high-quality services
