Role: Fostering Panel Adviser

Pay: £38 per hour
Contract: Part-Time Locum Contract - 22 hours per week

Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Fostering Social Worker to join our team in the East Midlands Local Authority as a Fostering Panel member. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to take on the crucial role of department expert on all Fostering Panel matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in Fostering Panel Matters: Serve as the department's expert on all aspects of the Fostering Panel, ensuring high standards and adherence to relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Quality Assurance: Thoroughly review and quality assure documents being presented to the panel and ensure accurate and comprehensive minutes following each panel meeting.
  • Professional Supervision: Provide professional supervision and appraisals to a diverse team of panel members, fostering a supportive and effective working environment.
  • Legislation and Regulation: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Fostering and Adoption legislation, including the 2002 Adoption Act, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards, and Government Guidance, applying this knowledge to the panel's work.
  • Framework and Policies: Operate within the legislative and statutory framework, the City Council's core values and competency framework, strategic aims, and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with significant experience in fostering and adoption.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Proven ability to supervise and appraise team members effectively.
  • Strong quality assurance skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
