Senior Practitioner - Children in Care Team – Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council

Location: Walsall
Pay/Salary: up to £33.30 per hour
Office Working: 3 Days per week
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with Walsall Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their Children in Care Team within Children’s Services. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce, Walsall are looking for someone with solid experience to be able to pick up a caseload and support their services. Walsall offers specialised clinical supervision to support practice, as well as an average caseload of 15 children. 

Duties

• Undertake statutory visits, and assessments as a Corporate Parent
• Undertake Section 7and 37 reports, as well as attending Court, and providing analysis and evidence-based recommendations
• Long term engagement with families, including direct work, capturing the voice of the child
• Attending conferences, such as CIC reviews
• Contribute to care planning, permanency planning and reunification work

What you need

• Social Work Qualification
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
