Assessment and Staying Together Team | Staffordshire | £33.30 per hour

Staffordshire are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment and Staying Together Team. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and well-led service with kind and approachable Team Managers, flexible hybrid working, and a team environment where practitioners are genuinely valued.

This role would suit a Social Worker with strong front-door or assessment experience who is confident managing children and families work, completing timely assessments, and delivering purposeful intervention to support children to remain safely within their family network wherever possible.

Role Overview
You will join Staffordshire’s Assessment and Staying Together Team, undertaking timely and high-quality assessments for children and families and supporting plans that reduce risk, strengthen family functioning, and promote safe outcomes. You will work within a service that focuses on keeping families together where appropriate, with management support in place to help you manage your caseload effectively and work to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory guidance and local procedures
  • Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, identifying risk and need clearly
  • Develop robust plans to support children to remain safely within their families wherever possible
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents and wider family networks to promote positive change
  • Work closely with partner agencies through effective multi-agency planning and intervention
  • Attend strategy discussions, legal planning meetings, CIN meetings and child protection conferences where required
  • Maintain accurate, timely and analytical case recording and assessments
  • Work in a child-centred and strengths-based way to deliver safe and outcome-focused practice

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Social work qualification
  • Previous experience within Assessment, Safeguarding, CIN or Child Protection teams
  • Strong assessment and risk management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced statutory setting
