Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Pay Rate: £42 per hour
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Locum


About the Role

Bracknell Forest Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team.
You will work with children and families where safeguarding concerns have been identified, delivering high-quality assessments and interventions to ensure children are protected and supported effectively.

This is a supportive, well-structured service with a strong focus on multi-agency collaboration and achieving positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and Child and Family Assessments.
  • Manage a caseload of CIN and CP cases, including court work where required.
  • Develop and implement robust safety and care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, and police.
  • Undertake direct work with children and families.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews, and court.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ statutory children’s social work experience
  • Experience working within safeguarding teams (CIN/CP)
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and report writing skills
  • Ability to live locally or commute to Bracknell for office-based working requirements
